Genworth fundraiser contributes $50,000 to assist bushfire victims
Genworth responded to Australia’s ”Worst Natural Disaster in 110 Years” and raised $50,000 dollars in donations to help rebuild the lives of the victims of the bushfires.

The need for economic aid in Victoria and New South Wales was immediate and immense. To answer the need, aid has poured in from both Australian and international sources. Genworth Financial, the largest mortgage insurer in Australia, was among the first to answer the call for help.

As soon as the extent of the fires became known, Genworth employees in Australia began reaching deep in their pockets and making individual contributions to help rebuild the lives of the bushfire victims. Working with the United Way, Genworth’s community partner, all donated funds have gone directly to causes benefiting the fire victims.

Genworth employees raised over $10,000, which was then matched by the company, and added to a contribution from the US based Genworth Foundation, for a total of $50,000 to help rebuild sustainable communities in areas affected by this tragedy.
